About Me

Steven C Schurr
Chicago, IL
I currently concentrate my legal practice, based out of Chicago, in health care law. I am an advocate for patient’s rights, the disabled, the elderly and various health care organizations. I am also involved in federal disability law, food, drug and device law, medicare, medicaid, medical ethics and federal patient privacy issues. In December 2009 I opened the Schurr Health Care Legal Clinic to more readily provide legal services to patients within the health care system. Previously, I have worked extensively as a regulatory affairs and clinical research professional and consultant for 12 years within both the medical device and pharmaceutical industries prior to becoming an attorney. After observing the difficulties that my parents encountered with the U.S. health care system in face of my father’s disability, I decided to attend law school at Loyola University in Chicago, home of Loyola’s Health Law Institute. In 1994, I graduated from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law and became a member of the Illinois State bar. In 1995, I became a member of the Indiana State bar. You can learn more about my practice at http://www.steveschurr.com
